I think 2025 has been a real mix...

Ups and downs, in all aspects of life.

Last year was my first year of full time in my business and I was very aware of the risk I had jumped into going self employed at the end of 2023. Therefore I said yes to anything and offered everything, making sure that I gave myself as much opportunity to succeed as I could.

But what is success?

Back then I was thinking success was purely in a financial term. However, this year has taught me it's so much more.

It's having clients who return back to me for their sessions year after year -

because of the experience they have with me,

because of the beautiful images we create together,

because they choose to work with me to create new memories.

It's new clients who have been recommended to me from friends, or having found me through events or online. Who choose to begin their memory making journey with me and trust in me to create this with them.

It's being able to plan my own diary, working when I want, around my daughter and her commitments - being there for the school run and school events, rather than being confined to employed hours, where I would be missing out on so much.

This year I have also reflected a lot about my work and my business; who I am and what I want to offer.

I have very much aligned with and embraced my unique style the past few months - not conforming to others, or to current trends. I am getting better at not looking sideways and trusting in myself and what I offer (greatly helped by the lovely feedback and support from my clients.) I have streamlined processes to allow me to have set personal time for self care and family, when previously, I would be working late into the night regularly. All of this has made me, in my opinion, more successful than I previously was - and none of that is to do with money.

The key message I want to give you heading into the new year? Believe in yourself and trust the process.
